This daring and fiercely creative work was a love collaboration between some determined and passionate like-minds that resulted to a revolutionary work.

The EP led them straight to the hearts of many (conscious) Africans and people outside the continent, including media outlets like CNN, BBC and in true hero fashion, Villy and The Extreme Volumes put the work out FOR FREE. Incredible.

With the success of Humanimals EP, Villy and the Xtreme Volumes decided to add visuals to their audio-story, it worked out just right and will screen next month at Film Africa Festival where it’s getting its first screening!

We’ll get back to the festival gist. For now, the gaddem movie trailer!-

Humanimals is a 30mins Pidgin English musical film with English translations. In the film, the artists show present pressing issues that are woven around tracks from the Humanimals EP. It is clever.

Villy expressed his main reasons for the project.

“This whole project is created to address issues that challenge my people, the day to day struggle and how I am connected and affected by it is the story I tell through my art. The goal is to be able to share ideas, create and tell our stories by ourselves, we embrace platforms that amplifies our voices, platforms like Film Africa.”

Well said, man.

Humanimals film will premiere at the Film Africa festival on Saturday 10th November at Ritzy, London. It is directed by Ghanaian musician Wanlov, who co-produced with Omonhinmin omonblanks okhiogbe of the band’s management Blanks Creations. Humanimals Film also features band members like guitarist-Johnson Hunton and bassist- Sam Ofori Chiku, with actresses Mallory Cheebs Savisaar and Alyson Paris.
